March 2019 Calendar – The month of March is the third month of the year. The name of this month was originated from Martius, who was the moniker for Mars. The Roman God Mars was a legendary and powerful god of the Roman Empire. He symbolizes heroism, conquest, pride and patriotism. It has also been said that Mars is the god of agriculture. The symbolic flower for the month of March is Daffodil. Also, the St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every March.

There were several important events in the history of United States which occurred during the month of March. One of which was the establishment of the Peace Corps under former U.S. President John F. Kennedy. On March 1, 1961, the Peace Corps was established in order to manage the sending of young Americans as volunteers to developing countries where they would help the distribution of basic social services. In Asia, it was on March 24, 1934 that the Philippines were granted independence by former U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt after almost fifty years of American colonization. It was also during March that the first African American Boxing Champion Jack Johnson was born.

Meanwhile, March has 31 days. During the month of March, the season in the Northern Hemisphere starts to shift to spring from winter, while the Southern Hemisphere embraces autumn upon the arrival of March.

The birthstones in the month of March are Aquamarine and Bloodstone. These stones symbolize strength and courage. During March, the zodiac signs are Pisces and Aries. Other important events that are celebrated during March include Earth Day, World Social Work Day and the International Day of Happiness.
